Cinnamon, cardamom, and a subtle hint of pepper: the wonderfully exuberant spices of traditional Indian chai are simply made to be paired with milk chocolate and melt in your mouth.Crafted with master chocolatier Kevin Kugel, we gently infused the pure milk chocolate from Original Beans with our Master Blend Hariman Classic Chai N°718, an ode to traditional Indian spice blending. The sustainably sourced Arriba beans used for this chocolate grow in the Pacific cloud forest in Ecuador’s Esmeraldas region, which is home to an enormous variety of plants and wildlife. Every bite of this perfectly malty fusion of chai and milk chocolate transports you right from your couch into the rainforest of Ecuador as well as the Himalayan mountains of India. This chocolate has slight visual changes due to unintentional heat, such as foil impressions or small discolorations. The taste and quality is not affected – the chocolate is perfectly edible.

Background Knowledge

Creating the world's best tea chocolate required not only the best tea, but also the best chocolate. This search led us to Original Beans, a renowned chocolate manufacturer that takes great care to bring out the unique flavor of the cocoa bean in its couvertures. Original Beans stands for sustainability, fair trade and regenerative agriculture.

The next challenge was to subtly integrate the tea flavor into the chocolate without disturbing the delicate aroma balance. In our studio, we came up with the idea of using the fat of the chocolate itself as a flavor carrier - thus cocoa butter tea was born. In master chocolatier Kevin Kugel, we found a partner who did a fantastic job of implementing this through careful experimentation with the various teas. The result is a delicate, quietly sophisticated line of chocolates. And a friendship with our partners, Original Beans and Master Chocolatier Kevin Kugel.
